Doha, July 07 /QNA/ The Ministry of Justice, in cooperation with the "Kanaf" Parenting Education Center, organized today an interactive workshop titled "The Safe Family in the Digital World," as part of its efforts to strengthen social responsibility, develop digital awareness, and equip employees with the knowledge and skills that enhance family stability amid rapid technological changes.

The workshop was held out of the Ministry's and the Center's shared interest in providing quality programs that help raise awareness of the challenges posed by the digital environment, strengthen the family's role as the primary incubator for instilling values, and reinforce the safe and responsible use of modern technologies — in a way that keeps pace with digital developments while preserving family cohesion.

The workshop is part of a series of programs and activities implemented by the Ministry under an interactive summer program that it is organizing for the first time in cooperation and partnership with "Kanaf." It is the first workshop within the Center's summer program, aimed at enriching the work environment with awareness and educational initiatives that contribute to developing employees' knowledge and enhancing the quality of their family and professional lives — in line with the Ministry's vision of investing in human capital and reinforcing a culture of continuous learning and social responsibility.

The workshop addressed the most prominent challenges facing families in the digital world, alongside a review of best practices in digital security and mechanisms for protecting children from risks and unsafe digital behaviors. It also emphasized promoting a culture of conscious and responsible technology use, and employing it in ways that support family relationships and reinforce educational values. The workshop further focused on the need to strengthen national (Qatari) identity and values within the family, develop skills for dialogue and positive communication with children, build a safe and balanced digital environment at home, protect children from behavioral risks and digital deviations, employ technology to strengthen family relationships, and develop emotional intelligence and empathy among family members — all contributing to building a more aware and cohesive family.

The workshop affirmed that engaging with the digital world is not limited to restricting the use of technology, but rather rests on empowering children to deal with it with awareness, responsibility, and confidence — by providing parents with practical tools and educational strategies that strengthen family dialogue, support informed decision-making, and contribute to building stronger and more stable family relationships in the digital age.
